In 2009, I traveled to Djibouti for the first time to work with an NGO helping malnourished children in the slums of Djibouti-Ville. The experience was both challenging and eye-opening, revealing the tough conditions many locals face. Despite the hardships, I was touched by the kindness of the Somali and Afar people and captivated by Djibouti’s stunning landscapes, from Lake Assal to Moucha Island.
